KARACHI: Cash rewards of $13,500 were disbursed among the outstanding performers of the 29th Asian Snooker Championship 2013 here at the Sheraton Karachi Hotel on Friday. Saleh Mohammad, draped in Afghanistan's national flag,[url=http://www.floware.fr]www.floware.fr[/url], collected a purse of $7,000 alongwith the crystal trophy for winning the event. Aamir Sarkosh of Iran also wrapped himself in his national flag when he came out to take his reward of $1,000 for being the losing semifinalist. Zhao Xintong of China was entitled to a couple of prizes of $1,000 each as he also registered the highest break (126) of the event besides being the other losing semifinalist. Tahir Ahmed, Managing Director Jubilee General Insurance, and Javed Ahmed, Managing Director Jubilee Life Insurance, presented the prizes to the top performers. The newly elected President of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF), Jim Leacy of Ireland, on his maiden visit to Pakistan, appreciated the arrangements made during the championship. "I had no hesitation in coming over to Karachi when my friends of the Pakistan Billiards Snooker Federation (PBSF) invited me for this event. My stay here has been terrific and I don't foresee any problems in holding international snooker competitions in Pakistan," Leacy said. |
